Welcome to Troop 3143

At Troop 3143, we create leaders. Our troop provides a program for young people that build character, train them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.

We are very active in the outdoors and in the community. We camp monthly, including a full week of summer camp and some of the older scouts will have the opportunity to backpack for two weeks in New Mexico. Our camps are filled with fun and activities including rafting, skiing, hiking are a few to name.

November Conservation Weekend 11/14-11/16

We are going to attend the council Conservation Weekend at Woodruff for our November camping trip. Similar to summer camp, select merit badge classes will be offered and all meals will be provided. If you are working on Life Rank and need conservation service hours, be sure to select the conservation project as one of your sessions. See email for list of merit badges offered and steps to register.

October Camping Trip 10/3-10/5

October camping trip will be at Black Rock Mountain State Park. The focus of this camping trip is the Camping Merit Badge. Scouts will be sleeping in tents or Adirondack shelters but there is a cabin with a gathering space. Adults can sleep in tents or in sleeping bags in the cabin.

We will do a hike on Saturday that will meet the requirement for Camping Merit Badge 9 (b)(1).

If you need cooking requirements for rank advancement or the camping merit badge, send an email to trevorrifkin@comcast.net.

We will leave from JCUMC on Friday, October 3rd at 5:30 PM and return before noon on Sunday October 5th.

Whitewater rafting down the Ocoee River with Whitewater Express 703 Golf Course Rd, Copperhill, TN 37317.

Depart Friday, August 22nd at 5:30 PM from JCUMC and return by noon on Sunday, August 24th.

One Night Camping Trip

One night camping trip this weekend. We will be doing an orienteering course for First Class rank requirements, but the camping trip is open to everyone. Cost is $35 per scout and the registration link is in the calendar. We plan to leave Friday at 3:00 pm and return Saturday hopefully around 4:00 pm.

Summer Camp Health Forms

Each scout and adult attending summer camp must provide an updated health form (Parts A/B/C). Part C requires a physician signature. Also include a copy of your immunization record (GA form 3231) and your insurance card.
