Welcome to Troop 3143

At Troop 3143, we create leaders. Our troop provides a program for young people that build character, train them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.

We are very active in the outdoors and in the community. We camp monthly, including a full week of summer camp and some of the older scouts will have the opportunity to backpack for two weeks in New Mexico. Our camps are filled with fun and activities including rafting, skiing, hiking are a few to name.

Summer Camp-Scoutmaster Minute

Posted on Jun 15 2021 - 1:23am

Now that I’ve had a day to relax and get some sleep, I’m looking back on the past week at summer camp. This was my first time to spend a week at summer camp since I was a teenager and I had a wonderful time despite the rain, cicadas and navigating the Nantahala Falls backwards (thanks Sachith!). I’m so proud of the troop and the way you became a team and a special thank you to the SPL, Connor!  The troop earned the Honor Award and the 2021 Scouting Traditions Challenge. Scouts earned 52 complete merit badges, another 34 partial merit badges, and 4 scouts attended Mountaineer and earned 46 requirements each.

Summer Camp Announcements

Posted on Jun 14 2021 - 11:39pm

This past week our troop and fellow scouts had gone to Summer Camp. In addition, at summer camp the scouts had the opportunity to start and finish merit badges, do white-water rafting, experience camp fires, participate in camp games, participate in the polar bear plunge, and be in a flag retirement ceremony. In addition, the troop is proud to announce that the troop has placed third in the camp games out of many troops which is quite the accomplishment. Pictures of summer camp will be posted in the picture tab on the website.
